March 10th - The Magnificent Seven

Members Only Denzel Washington leads the seven in a new version of the tale directed by Antoine Fuqua. Set in 1879, after the American Civil War, the Seven are recruited to defend the town of Rose Creek from the robber baron, Bartholomew Bogue, played by Peter Sarsgaard.


The Club is running its usual ‘Free time ‘coach trip to London. The coach will leave the clubhouse at 9.00 am and depart from London at 7.00 pm.
Several drop off points on the way but only one pick up point to be decided on the day.
The cost is just £15.00 for adults and £10.00 for children up to 15 years.

March Trivia Evening

Another chance to participate in our monthly Trivia. Open to members and their guests this popular event allows you to test your general, sports, faces and music knowlegde in a series of 10 rounds of written questions. Teams can be up to 6 people and you have the chance to win sweets. All for FREE.

If you want to register a team, please contact the Club Office.

There are only two more sessions in this season after this one before we have our summer break, so why not give it a try.


The Club is running a trip to Fullers Brewery at Chiswick. The midi coach leaves the Clubhouse at 11.45 am and Fuller’s at 5.00 pm.
This is a unique opportunity to see a working brewery. Please note the tour includes several flights of stairs and so is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
A small buffet will be laid on so please advise of any special
dietary needs when booking. The tour is limited to 19 places – Club members may take one guest so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Sad News

Death of Sam Sultana

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sam Sultana after his battle with cancer.

Sam's funeral will be at the East Chapel, Southampton Crematorium on Monday 6th February at 12:30.

No flowers by request. Donations can be sent c/o Nigel Guilder Ltd, Family Owned Funeral Directors, Natham House, 27 Hursley Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 2FS. Cheques preferred, payable to either Oakhaven Hospice Trust or Blue Cross.

Good News!!!

The IBM Hursley Club now has access to take American Express cards. In line with other credit and debit cards we take, the minimum spend is £5.00

Hursley Amateur Ballroom and Latin Dance (HABLAD)

We meet on Monday evenings in the Club House for tuition by a professional dance teacher. Currently we have two classes, one from 7 ‘til 8pm and the second 8 ‘til 9pm.


The Dance subsection are looking for new members to start a beginners class.

We also would welcome into our friendly club anyone with a little dancing knowledge or if you wish to refresh your existing skills .

Dancing is on a Monday evening in the clubhouse.

You are welcome to come along to see us in action or to join us for an evening as a taster session.
