Bar Rules

Premises: The Clubhouse, Sports hall and Sports Grounds.

    CONDUCT ON PREMISES

  1. Members, their guests and visitors shall, whilst on the Club premises, comply with the IBM Hursley Club Constitution, the General Rules and the Bar Rules set out below.
    LIST OF MEMBERS

  2. The name of every member shall be entered on a Club Register which shall be available for inspection at all reasonable hours.
    OPENING HOURS

  3. The hours during which intoxicating liquor may, at the discretion of the Bar Committee, be supplied are:
    Monday to Saturday: 11.00 am - 11.00 pm
    Sunday: 12 noon - 10.30 pm
    THE SUPPLY AND CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS

    1. Only intoxicating liquor supplied by the Club Bar may be consumed on the Club premises.
    2. Payment for the supply of intoxicating liquor shall only be made to the Club Steward or other employee of the Club, or to a person nominated by the Bar Committee.

    RULES OF CONDUCT

    1. No drunkenness, bad language or disorderly behaviour shall be permitted on the premises.
    2. No intoxicating liquor shall be consumed by any person under the age of eighteen on the premises.
    3. If a member introduces a guest, the name and address of the guest shall be written in the Guest’s Book kept for that purpose. Any one admission of a member’s guest shall be valid for one day only. Any member introducing a guest under this rule must accompany him/her whilst on the Club premises and shall be responsible for the guest’s behaviour throughout the visit. The member shall be responsible for ensuring that all guests comply with the Club Constitution and Rules whilst on Club premises.
    4. A member may not introduce more than four guests on any one day without the prior permission of the Chairman of the Bar Committee or his deputy (excepting under Rule 6 below).
    5. The supply of intoxicating liquor to members, their guests and to visitors* shall be at the discretion of the Bar Committee, the Steward, or his staff. Should anyone be refused service for any reason whatsoever, the circumstances shall be reported to the Club Committee.
      * Visitors as defined in Rule 6 below
    6. Failure to comply with any of the Bar Rules shall be brought to the attention of the Bar Committee, which shall recommend action, as appropriate, to the Club Committee. Such failure could result in the loss of privileges under Rule 6(c) of the Club Constitution.
    7. Any guest introduced to the Club in accordance with the foregoing rules and visitors admitted under Rule 6 below may be supplied with intoxicating liquor.

    VISITORS

    1. In addition to members and their signed-in guests, bar facilities may also be extended to visitors as defined below in (b) to (f) of this Rule.
    2. Members, officials and supporters of visiting teams engaged in competitions with teams from the Hursley Club or any of its sub-sections. Such events being subject to the approval of the Club Committee.
    3. Attendees at a member’s pre-booked function, such as a wedding reception, a recital etc. All such bookings being subject to Club Committee’s prior approval. The member concerned shall be present at the event and shall be responsible for the visitors’ conduct.
    4. Attendees at special events and functions organised by the Club Committee. These public events, for example the Annual Firework Display, shall not number more than 12 per year and a record of such events shall be maintained in the Club Office.
    5. Staff and suppliers’ staff, representatives. etc., with the Bar Committee’s permission.
    6. Members of IBM Clubs at other locations, visiting the Hursley site.
    7. The admission of visitors under this Rule shall not entail any right to the exclusive use of the bar facilities to the exclusion of members.

    SUPPLY OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR FOR CONSUMPTION OFF THE PREMISES.

  4. Only members may be supplied with intoxicating liquor for consumption off the premises.
