At the clubhouse we aim to put on events over the year that appeal to the majority of our members.  We want to make sure you are aware of these events and that you feedback to us any ideas you might have for events / trips.

It is important that we support our Club so that we continue to benefit from having our own clubhouse, so take a look through these up coming events and please register your interest by calling the club office on 245933. 

Club Trip:  Friday 12th – Monday 15th December

Christmas Market & Parade at Valkenburg, Holland

£182 per person. The price includes :

• Transport
• Eurotunnel crossing
• 3 nights accommodation

Sharing twin or double bedded rooms at the Palanka Hotel in Valkenburg town centre.

Christmas around the world is the theme of this Dutch Christmas market.

Booths offer products from all over. The town is set on top of a series of caves, one of which is decorated for the Christmas season. Stalls also have authentic Dutch handcrafted products and gifts. Whether you want to take a tour of a cave or dine on some fine Dutch food, Valkenburg offers visitors a magical festive market and Christmas parade.

Friday 12 September:   Cinema Club, Iron Man

Start: 20:00, End: 23:00

Tickets are £3.00 in advance from the Club Office or £4.00 on the door

Saturday 20th September:  International Races Day at Newbury

A day at Newbury Races.  Includes Transport via mini-bus, the opportunity to meet the horses and a trainer and entrance to the races. A rough idea of the agenda is as follows.

• 09:00 - Leave the clubhouse
• 10:00 - Arrive at the stable. Have a look at the horses and have some breakfast.
• 11:15 - Go to the gallops then onto the racecourse.
• 12:30 - Arrive at the Racecourse for the first race at 13:35
• 17:30 - Leave for home.
• 18:45 - Arrive back at the club

Cost is approximately £30 depending on final numbers.  It is essential you register for this event as soon as possible to ensure a place on the mini-bus plus to ensure that the correct size transport is booked.

Saturday 20th September: Craft Workshop, Scrapbook Crop and Lesson

10am - 4.30pm  Craft Workshop: Scrapbooking.  All day crop and / or beginners lessons. Jim Hayes Hall.

Never scrapbooked before?  Book a lesson - 11.30am - 1.30pm

Book in for a lesson and bring 6-8 photographs that are around a theme and we will give you all you need to build your first page and teach you the basics. Scrapbooking can be as fancy or as simple as you want it to be so don't feel daunted. We will help you find your style !!

Already a Scrapbooker? Book in for our all day crop 10am - 4.30pm

Use of lots of different tools plus ideas to help give you inspiration.

Saturday 27th September: An Introduction to Falconry - half day session £45.00

Start:10:30, End: 13:30

Due to our very successful day in March and June, we are offering more half day taster sessions by Amews Falconry gives a basic understanding of Birds of Prey, their training and care - whilst providing hands-on experience, holding and flying a bird, Courses will be held on Saturday 27 September. Please note the maximum number on a course is 6. The sessions will be held here at the clubhouse. Friday October 3rd:  Live Music : Louche Manouche at the Clubhouse

Start:  20:30, End:    22:30

Come along and enjoy the Acoustic Jazz sounds of Louche Manouche! This five piece band comprises of two guitars, bass, clarinet and fiddle and will make for a great nights entertainment!
Some basket meals may be available through the bar on the night.
Tables for up to six can be reserved in advance for £5.00 or take your chance on the door for £1 per person.

Friday 10th October - Wine Tasting and Cheese Evening at the Clubhouse

Cost £5 per person  .

Come along and have fun learning about wine tasting.  Reserve your table today and you will have the opportunity to taste, and purchase, some fantastic wines plus you will be given some cheese that compliment the wines perfectly.  
The intent is for it to be fun with audience participation.  

• 7-30PM. Guests Arrive, and are given a Glass of Sparkling Wine.
• 8-00 PM Main Wine Tasting Starts,   The professional host will the evening , each guest will be given their glass and each wine will be served.   You will be given a tasting sheet, with a description of each wine.

Saturday 8th November:  London Free Time Coach Trip

 (coincides with Lord Mayor's Show) The coach is booked and will leave the clubhouse at 9.00 am and London at 7.00 pm to arrive back at Hursley by 9.00 pm approx.  Prices are adults £11.00 and children aged 2 and above £7.50.

CHAMPNEYS - FOREST MERE - ALL FOR £30.00 PER PERSON

Spa Evenings at Champneys Forest Mere Health Resort are available to Hursley Club Members and their guests.  The offer is available from 5.30 pm - 10 pm Monday to Thursday and include full use of facilities including Indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam rooms and gymnasium.  Evening lectures, evening classes and demonstrations.  Treatments bookable in advance subject to availability and at extra cost.
Three course a la carte meal prepared by master chefs (wine not included) 

PAULTONS PARK DISCOUNTED TICKETS

Instead of the standard admission of £16.00, Hursley Club members may purchase tickets from the Club Office for £13.25 and £14.25 for guests and forget the queues.

Did you know?
The IBM Hursley Club offer meals in the evening until 9pm. When you purchase a meal off the Meal Board, your first drink is included in the price.
