Places remain available on the cricket coaching course this summer, please register your interest by 22 June. The age groups have been extended from the original posting, to accommodate children from 8 years of age.
Would your child enjoy a week at IBM Hursley in the Summer Holidays having some fun learning how to play cricket?
We are planning to use the wonderful facilities we have here at Hursley and hold a week in August for both boys and girls to come along and learn how to play/more about the game of cricket. The sessions will be run by ECB Qualified Coaches. Each of the 5 days will follow a theme looking at a specific aspect of the game – bowling, batting, fielding, catching. During the day there will be exercises and drills relating to the theme, a game for all to join in to finish and lots of fun to be had by all. This will also link in with the sessions which Mike Pollard has been running.
We will need to limit numbers because of the potential for bad weather. If the weather is bad we would move into the sports hall and have to consider numbers and safety.
All we ask is the Children to have lunch with their parents
Cost - There is a charge. The reason for this is we will have to pay for some of the coaches to attend
The cost for the five days is £75.00 per child.
Before we progress further we need to understand how much interest there will be. To register you interest please send an e-Mail with the name, age, school year of your child(ren) by Friday 22 May 2009 to Kevin Standfield/UK/IBM. Kevin is the SWG Business Manager for UKI InfoSphere Services and he is also an ECB Level 2 Coach in Dorset, Head Coach at Shaftesbury Youth Cricket Club and coaches district youth squads in the county.
He will be one of the coaches running the week in August.
