Clubhouse Specials Catering
I like many are mystified by the removal of clubhouse specials board:
Users of this facility used to order a drink look at board and then orderr a meal.
Now the same people order drink ask the bar staff what the specials are as per instructions on board, then find a menui then select, then find selection has sold out. Then start again on selcting food.
Meanwhile those waiting for a drink have a longer wait whilst the food drink order person decides what he wants. Result is two frustrated people and soon reduced trade.
Which bright spark came up with this process, every pub in the country has a specials board. Will someone explain the logic or smell the coffee and wake up to reality please.
If it ain't broke and works then don't try and fix it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your comments and sorry to hear of your frustration with the Specials menu. The first thing to say is that we'll make sure this feedback is given to the bar to see what can be done.
The committees thinking behind this change was that the 'Specials' that were on the menu, often weren't specials. As a result what we've tried to do is to move a number of items from the specials board more permanently into the main club menu so that when choosing a meal from your seat you can also see the other choice of food. Previously the menus on the tables used to focus a lot around burgers. Currently the specials should be printed out by the bar staff daily and inserted into the menus. As with all specials there will be a finite quantity and i guess the difference between the paper and the blackboard is about how to mark up available quantity.
We'll still work on this, although i hope you can understand that we are trying to increase the standard of the menu, rather than just break something that isn't broken! We'll also gladly take suggestions so please keep the comments coming!
The Special's board used to advertise items that were not available every day, and thus were special for that day. It seemed to work quite well and could be rubbed off when no longer available.
By all means improve the standard menu, but not by breaking something that was not broken!
