Bar Redecoration

Things are nearly finished - what does everyone think of the new colour scheme/style of the ClubHouse?

Hi Bob - thanks for posting your thoughts and questions here - let me do my best to answer them for you .....

We are currently going through the process of ordering the new curtains/blinds for the bar area - I will post on this forum when I know of a timeframe when these will be in place.

I will look into getting the oche for the dart board replaced, and will also look at the surround of the dart board (the last thing we want is big holes in our nicley painted walls!)

I can appreciate that at the moment the walls look a bit bare. Please bear with us for now - until the curtains/blinds are in place, it might not be sensible to put anything on the walls. After this time, we will address what should go where - if you could send a detailed list of the kind of things you'd like to see put back up, we can look through it and decide the best place for everything.

A bookcase idea was certainly raised, but as you can imagine the major re-decoration/re-carpeting/re-wiring work has taken up the majority of the Facilities committee's time. Rest assured that once everything is in place, this idea (as well as others) will be re-visited.

Once again, thanks for the comments and observations. Input from the members is always welcomed so as to improve the club for all.

A couple of observations . . .

Are the curtains/blinds arriving soon?

The dart board needs a mat showing where the thrower
should stand. It probably needs a bigger 'surround' as well.
Children (and some adults!) will soon be throwing darts into
the freshly painted wall . . .

The walls are a bit bare. Can we have the Cricket League-
winning pennants and Football Fair Play Plate, back please.
Also, the valuable signed portrait of 'The Oval' was suitable
for a Sports Club wall, too.

I heard that a bookcase was mooted. Good idea if
carefully monitored. Not a good idea if it becomes like
a doctor's surgery with old copies of Reader's Digest
and House & Country mag's littered around.

That'll do for now . . .

The bar area is so much brighter and clean it looks very good. ;)
